How Thirty4thStreet Productions is growing as virtual event planners

This inspiring story is of a rising startup called Thirty4thStreet Productions with a mission to bring people together through virtual events organization. Here is the story of Thirty4thStreet Productions in their own words.

Our mission is to bring people together, no matter the distance. We combine years of event planning experience with live streaming technology to enable our clients to share their special moments with loved ones near and far. Hence, we strive to be a one-stop-shop by offering event planning, graphic design, officiant services, video streaming, and editing, and much more. We work with our clients to represent their personality and style in every detail and bring their vision to life.

Introduce us to your idea of Thirty4thStreet Productions

In times of social distancing, the need for virtual event planners was glaring. When we created Thirty4thStreet Productions, our goal was to help keep celebrations alive even in a global pandemic.

As professional event planners, we brought our many combined years of experience to the table and paired it together with live streaming to keep the good times rolling. We produce virtual and in-person events such as bridal showers, birthday parties, fundraisers, corporate events and weddings.

When you work with us you have access to each of our expertise which includes more than just planning! We make it easy for our clients to check off their to-do list all in one place so they are able to focus on the celebration.

What’s your strategy story? What led you to start Thirty4thStreet Productions?

Our three founders first met while working as event planners for a major retailer in New York City. Although two of us had moved on from the company a few years ago, we still remained in touch. After the pandemic hit, we were all laid off from our current jobs at the same time and felt this driving force to work together again. We wanted to bring our event planning skills together into an innovative idea that would bring joy back into people’s lives during a dark time. We really care about our clients and do everything we can to provide them with a positive experience, understanding that everyone is struggling right now.

What marketing, operation strategies are you adopting at Thirty4thStreet Productions?

Similar to most companies in 2020, we have focused all of our efforts on digital marketing. We knew we needed a great storefront and, in our case, a website that perfectly conveyed our planning and design services, mission statement, and past work. We think we have done just that with t4sproductions.com while also staying open-minded and learning what works for our business.

Building brand awareness is one of the most important and expensive goals we have as a new company. Because of this, we have chosen to focus on organically building our clientele with SEO strategies and a blog where we share with prospective clients our current work. Our blog posts require time and dedication in creating, but we are happy to share details of our client’s stories and events through storytelling, pictures, and videos.

As a fully self-funded company, we are extremely cost-conscious. As a team of 3, we divide and conquer all of our responsibilities. We are fortunate that each one of us is a ‘roll up your sleeves’ type of person and we have the willingness to continuously learn if we don’t know something. Additionally, we selectively choose when to run ads and focus on organically driving more traffic to our website through our social media channels – Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest. We focus on building credibility and engagement through our organic posts and demonstrating our capabilities at every opportunity.

Any strategy mistakes you have made and what did you learn?

Thankfully we haven’t had any major mistakes so far. Our biggest challenge was figuring out what it takes to start a business but not just any business, starting a business during a pandemic when everything is closed and you really don’t know where to begin.

Our company is a New York based LLC and if you know anything about New York based LLC you’ll know there is more to it then just filing paperwork. You must ensure you are filing paperwork with the state in order for your company to be in compliance with the state and federal laws. This includes being featured in two New York based newspapers for 6 weeks and then filing your certificate.

Other challenges we have faced are getting our name and what we do out there to potential clients. As well as price sensitivity during a pandemic. What can clients afford and how much are they willing to spend during this time.

Finally what advice do you have for your fellow entrepreneur readers?

Our advice to fellow entrepreneurs would be to stay open to innovating and evolving. When we began our business we had a million great ideas that we were able to take and refine along the way, which meant our strategy was changing constantly.

However, we stayed open to changes that would take our business in a better direction. We continued to educate ourselves and learn new skills that would push us forward and help us grow. Never stop learning!
