How Fligital is digitizing the logistics management

This inspiring story is of a rising startup called Kuriosity Labs started by Praveen Pottipati in the transport and logistics management space. Here is the story of Kuriosity Labs in Praveen’s own words

In the logistics & transport management industry, time is money. If we save time, more business can be done, which is more money. We combined the traditional way of doing business with technology and developed a platform that’s available 24*7, easy to adopt & has a small learning curve.

With Fligital, the main product of Kuriosity Labs, we aim to digitize all operations for Fleet owner, Agent & Transporter and provide a 360-degree view of the entire operations.

What’s the strategy story of Praveen? What led him to Fligital?

The idea of Fligital started taking shape with innumerable conversations with friends from the Transport and Logistics industry. The operational issues faced by them and their teams sprung up a need for an end to end system to standardize data management, optimize operations, and free up time to concentrate on core tasks.

We realized that these were the common issues faced by other fleet managers too. So we decided to innovate and come up with valuable solutions. It started with a need to help friends which gave way to a solution – Fligital, a Digital fleet Management System.

The problem statement seems to be simple when it all started and as we went deep it looked more obvious why there was no one solution in the market. This segment of the business is very dynamic, fluid, and highly disorganized.

We soon realized that a quick fix might not work. We hired domain experts and started spreading our idea. Soon we started receiving a lot of feedback and we found our direction. We started to believe more in our WHY.

Fligital soon started to take shape. We tackled one problem at a time and moved on to others. During demos, we realized that this isn’t enough and a lot to be done. This gave us a road map for the next three years to come. It didn’t take much time to understand how our solution can be a great internal product. With like-minded people on board, we are starting our journey. Fligital has three kinds of solutions as of now:

Fleet Management

Partnerships

Inventory and Storage

What marketing and operation strategies is Fligital adopting in the digitization of logistics management?

In India, we have hired marketing executives who have experience of working in logistics or transportation management domain. These team members also come with a good number of contacts who could be our potential customers.

We plan to meet all of them, demo our product, and onboard them. We plan to set up a back-office team really quickly who can reach potential customers & onboard them. Fligital team is also meeting transport associations in various cities to build multiple business relations.

We have a very small social media presence for now. We are researching how do we increase our reach without having a huge field force. Outside India, we are building a few partnerships which would help us customize Fligital based on the geography needs. We are yet to invest in branding.

Strategy Mistakes and Learning

During the initial days, thought was more hypothetical and was less close to reality. But in August with domain experts joining, we have realigned to reality. Otherwise we would have made an expensive mistake.

Advice for entrepreneur readers

Pick up a problem statement to solve. Churn an idea to solve and discuss with people who have the same problem. Validate the idea & if it works out, build an MVP & start talking to people whether they are willing to pay for it. If not, pick another problem to solve.

There’s so much to do in this world.

We are not afraid of failures. We are afraid of not taking risks and making the world a better place to live in
